We are delighted to have found a possible location for the end railway scene where our main character 'George' heads off to the Royal Navy to start his new life.
The scene is emotionally charged and we see George, seemingly alone on the platform waiting for the train that will take him to Newcastle for his connecting train to Plymouth.
Lily, George's mother arrives at the station. This is her last chance to wish her son well and give him the hug he so longs for. Will she, won't she?
We are grateful to Weardale Railways for their help and understanding and of course for the use of their wonderful station and train which amazingly is the very type of train that 'Lily' worked on as a guard.
We do hope that once they know and understand our production that they will allow the end scene to be filmed at the Station in Stanhope.
