In this area we will provide information that should help you get into the world of TV acting either as a volunteer, SA, or if you're lucky enough, a cast member.

NE14.TV

NE14.TV is a local agency based in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle. Bessie is the owner/Manager and she specialises in getting SA's (Extra's) for shows such as VERA, The Dumping Ground, and other 'local' productions. Some of her clients appeared as cast on Ken Loach's movie THE OLD OAK.

Bessie runs regular workshops on acting, self taping and being an SA so it is worth creating a free profile and registering for SA work.

MANDY

Mandy has now linked up with several other casting sites such as Casting Call Pro, Film and TV Pro, Stage Jobs Pro, Singers Pro, Dancers Pro, Voices Pro and Music .

The way in which this site works is simple; register and create your account for free. There is an upgrade to premium where you will get more casting information and opportunities but the basic can help in the early days. There are loads of jobs and you will get daily emails that are filtered to suit your profile and location, lots of student work on here too so you can get experience without the worry of being on a big set or production until you're ready.

SPOTLIGHT

Spotlight is one step up from the two above mentioned casting sites. Spotlight is the industry standard where casting directors for all big productions search for talented actors and crew.

To be part of spotlight you must have worked on a production that has a contract and is not SA work, so for instance if you get cast in a show that has lines and a character, you will qualify for a spotlight profile. The other way to gain spotlight is to be recommended by a casting director that has accreditation and productions to their name.

Cost is about £170 per year for the full membership and if you get and agent, they will filter jobs suitable to you.

LUCAS CASTING

Lucas castings are a good company to link into and they can be found on FACEBOOK by searching LUCAS CASTING.

Lucas are one of the agencies used by shows such as THE BAY, THE JETTY, THE REPSONDER and other crime drama shows as well as WATERLOO Rd, Coronation St. and Emmerdale.

Well worth following on FB and keep in touch with what is going on and what they need. Mainly SA Work but worth the effort in creating a profile with EP Casting website which is where LUCAS get their SA's from

NORF CASTING

NORF castings are a good company to link into and they can be found on FACEBOOK by searching NORF CASTING.

NORF are one of the agencies used by shows such as BRASSIC, The bank of Dave, Hollyoaks and Victoria

A great place to register and with filming of THE JETTY underway, they are on the look out for new faces on a daily basis so best register your interst via the EP Portal or find them on Facebook. You will be given a WhatsApp link so they can contact you to alert you of new requirements.
